The system used a two section circular variable filter (CVF) and a single indium antimonide detector, both cooled with liquid nitrogen. There are 120 channels of data. The first half of the CVF produces data at a spectral resolution of ~100 Angstroms while resolution of the second half is ~200 Angstroms. The full spectral range was scanned and recorded every few minutes during observations at the 2.2 m telescope on Mauna Kea. Multiple scans, or 'runs', were obtained for each object. See McCord, et al., 1981 [MCCORDETAL1981] and Pieters and Pratt, 2000 [PIETERSANDPRATT2000] for details."
