PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 1999-08-01 NOTE = "Description of the INDEX directory contents for the 120-Color Lunar NIR Spectrophotometry Data archive" END_OBJECT = TEXT END INDEX Directory Contents The INDEX directory contains the files INDEX.TAB, a table that lists every data file on the archive volume, INDEX.HTM, an HTML version of INDEX.TAB, and INDEX.LBL, a detached PDS label that describes both INDEX.TAB and INDEX.HTM. INDEX.TAB contains one row (record) for each data product on the volume. Each row contains several columns (fields) that describe the data product: the product ID, the directory and file name, the product creation date, the data acquisition date, the lunar feature targeted by the observation, the latitude and longitude of the observation, and a data quality indicator. The rows are in alphabetical order by feature name. The table is formatted so that it can be read directly into many data management systems. All fields are separated by commas, and character fields are enclosed in double quotation marks ("). Character fields are left justified, and numeric fields are right justified. Each record ends with ASCII carriage return and line feed characters. This allows the file to be read by various computer operating systems. INDEX.HTM is an HTML version of INDEX.TAB provided for ease of access to the data using a Web browser. To begin browsing the data, open INDEX.HTM in any Web browser. The Web page has the same information found in INDEX.TAB, with column headings added. It includes hyperlinks to the individual data files. INDEX.LBL is a PDS label for both INDEX.TAB and INDEX.HTM. It has a description of the content and structure of the fields in INDEX.TAB. This description includes the name of each field, its format, and a brief definition. The values listed for start byte and number of bytes do not include commas between fields or quotation marks surrounding character fields. Note that the column formatting information applies only to INDEX.TAB, not to INDEX.HTM.
