PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2006-03-10 NOTE = "Introduction to the CRISM Spectral Library" END_OBJECT = TEXT END THE MRO CRISM SPECTRAL LIBRARY Introduction ------------ This archive is a collection of laboratory spectra compiled by members of the CRISM Science Team for comparison with spectra acquired by the CRISM instrument on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Please note that the Spectral Library is currently in review and may be updated and improved as a result of the review. Volume Contents --------------- The volume contains the following directories: CATALOG - All files in the Catalog directory are ASCII text documentation of the data, instruments, laboratories, personnel and references relevant to this archive. They are also used to load the PDS Catalog so that the information is available for online searching. The file VOLDESC.CAT in the root directory is a catalog file that describes the archive volume. This is also an ASCII text file. DATA - Spectral Library products are found in the Data directory grouped in subdirectories by data provider. The Spectral Library data are all ASCII text files with attached PDS labels. DOCUMENT - The Document directory contains the CRISM Spectral Library Software Interface Specification in Adobe PDF and HTML formats. A single PDS label describes both versions. INDEX - The Index directory contains the file INDEX.TAB, a table with one row for each Spectral Library file in the Data directory. The table lists the path and file name, the product ID, the product creation time, producer, and other information about the product. The file INDEX.LBL is a PDS label that describes the table. All files in this directory are ASCII text. EXTRAS - The Extras directory contains chemical and other analyses for some of the Spectral Library products. Files in the Extras directory are of various formats and do not all have PDS labels. The contents of this directory are not required to comply with PDS standards, and are provided as useful but not critical ancillary information.
