    The Mr. Coffee spectrometer consists of a chopped quartz halogen light
    source and an indium antimonide photometer with a two-segment circular
    variable filter.  The spectrometer operates in the 2.3 to 4.2 micrometer
    wavelength region with a spectral resolution of ~1.5% and in the 4.2 to
    5.0 micrometer wavelength region with a spectral resolution of ~2.5%.
