MRO SHARAD EDR Archive

INTRODUCTION

     This file contains an accumulation of corrections and notes for the
MRO Shallow Radar Experiment Data Record archive. The most recent entries are
listed first.

CORRECTIONS AND NOTES

October 21, 2009.
-----------------

One EDR data product has been revised since its release on September 8, 2009.
The product E_1085401_001_SS19_700_B has replaced the previously released 
product E_1085401_001_SS19_700_A.

Release 10. September 8, 2009.
------------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between November 9, 2008, and 
February 8, 2009, inclusive. This is the first release to include data from
the Extended Science Phase of the MRO mission, which began December 20, 2008.

Release 9. June 8, 2009.
------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between August 9 and November 8,
2008, inclusive.

Release 8. March 9, 2009.
-------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between May 10 and August 8, 2008.
SHARAD was in safe mode between April 24 and May 9, 2008, and no
data was acquired during that time.

Release 7. January 15, 2009.
----------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between February 9 and April 23, 
2008, inclusive. This release was scheduled to come out December 8, 2008, 
but the delivery of the SHARAD data to PDS was delayed.

Release 6. September 30, 2008.

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between November 9, 2007, and
February 8, 2008, inclusive.

Release 5. June 9, 2008.

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between August 9 and November 8,
2007, inclusive.

Release 4. March 7, 2008.
--------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between May 9 and August 8,
2007, inclusive.

Release 3. Dec. 8, 2007.
--------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between February 9 and May 8,
2007, inclusive.

1. The six document files absent from the previous two releases have been
included with this release. However, one of the files, shafum.pdf, is missing
the required ASCII text version, which will be supplied in Release 4.

2. The list of valid values for INSTRUMENT_MODE_ID in the Data
Dictionary is missing this value that appears in SHARAD labels: SS11.


Release 2. Sept. 17, 2007.

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between January 7 and February 8,
2007, inclusive.

1. Six files are missing from the document directory. They should be
supplied in Release 2. They are described in the SHARAD Archive Volume
SIS (document/archsis.*).

Release 1. August 15, 2007.
---------------------------

This release includes SHARAD data acquired between December 6, 2006, and
January 6, 2007, inclusive. The SHARAD instrument did acquire data
prior to December 6 but the data was found by the instrument team to be
invalid due to an onboard processing error, and therefore it has not
been archived. 

The following errors occur in this release.

1. Six files are missing from the document directory. They should be
supplied in Release 2. They are described in the SHARAD Archive Volume
SIS (document/archsis.*).

2. The definition of MRO:STOP_SUB_SPACECRAFT_LATITUDE in the Data Dictionary
(document/pdsdd.ful) gives an incorrect range. The range should be -90
to 90.

3. The list of valid values for INSTRUMENT_MODE_ID in the Data
Dictionary is missing these values that appear in SHARAD labels: SS05,
SS07, SS18, and SS19.
