    Handwritten Notes on Penetrometer Condition and Run Times                 
                                                                              
    The handwritten notes (A15_SMSS_71_M016935_018, _019, and _020; pages     
    C-1, C-2, and C-3) give information on the condition and mass of the      
    penetrometer unit when it was received and the times for events on the    
    lunar surface related to the operation of the penetrometer.  Judging      
    from the transcripts of the lunar surface to ground communications, the   
    times given in the notes are in Central Daylight Time, which equals       
    Universal Time (UT) minus 5 hours. (The time estimates taken from the     
    transcripts of the communications are uniformly about 6 to 7 minutes      
    earlier than the times on the notes. Since the exact time the             
    measurements were taken is not important to the results, no effort has    
    been made to determine the source of this discrepancy.)
