This is a *recomputed*, hand-typed chart of frames 022 and 023, pages B-8 and B-9 of the microfilmed copy of the Soil Mechanics Experiment Report of Apollo 16 LSRP Data, May 1972. The corresponding JPG images of these frames in this dataset are /DOCUMENT/A16_SMSS_72_M016936_022.JPG and /DOCUMENT/A16_SMSS_72_M016936_023.JPG. Chart checked with original scans January 17, 2011 Notes: - In this chart the conversion from drum load to drum circumference deflection was recomputed by the data producer for all rows using the multiplier given on the original chart, 0.5542. On the original scanned chart, the conversion from Drum Load to Drum Circumference Deflection is given as 'x .5542', and the conversion of Delta Drum Depth reading to Actual Penetration Depth is 'x 31.3'. However it appears the multipliers used to derive drum circumference deflection from drum load were 0.542 for the first 24 rows and approximately 0.553 for the remaining rows listed on the chart. The original scanned chart is provided as a separate table A16_SMSS_72_M016936_022_ORI.TAB, along with a header file and PDS label, A16_SMSS_72_M016936_022_ORI.TXT and A16_SMSS_72_M016936_022_ORI.LBL. - On the scanned chart, Load column heading has a notation below it: '(from calib. curve)' - On the scanned chart, the Initial Drum Depth/Final column does not have any final values recorded; only initial values are given. - At the bottom of each scanned chart is 'Treadwell & Moriwaki' - Superscript '2', an exponential, is denoted by '**2' in the table below. - The exact numbers on the charts have been reproduced even when they appear to be in error based on the expected multipliers, conversions, etc. Where obvious, the apparent discrepancies are noted in the last column. The order the numbers were calculated in is not known, so it is difficult to determine how mistakes effect subsequent calculations, therefore we have not attempted to redo the calculations.
