*INDEX.TAB 

Each file with a name like *INDEX.TAB is a table with one row per data 
product. There is a main index for the primary data products, along with 
BIAS, DARK, FLAT, and STDS index tables for calibration data products.
 
Each index table includes information about the products that may be useful 
for searching.  The table is an ASCII file. It may be loaded into a 
spreadsheet or data base program for ease of searching.

Each line in an index table consists of a set of fixed-length columns
delimited by commas. The associated label file tells the start byte, 
number of bytes, and data type of each columns. Character fields are enclosed 
in double quotation marks ("). 
 
*INDEX.LBL

The PDS label for the corresponding *INDEX.TAB file. The label defines the
columns in the index table.
