PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT INTERCHANGE_FORMAT = ASCII PUBLICATION_DATE = 2016-05-06 NOTE = "Description of contents in the INDEX subdirectory" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Content description of INDEX directory ====================================== This directory contains an index and a checksum file for this volume, both accompanied by PDS labels. Checksum Table ============== The checksum table (MD5.TAB) is a listing of all files in the archive, with the exception of the checksum table itself, that gives the MD5 (message digest) checksum for the file and the full path and file name. It is generated by the commonly available "MD5Deep" utility. This file is useful as a manifest for the archive and for data integrity assurance. The checksum files are: MD5.LBL The label for the checksum file. MD5.TAB The checksum table, as described in the label. Volume Index ============ The volume index table provides a file list for all PDS-labeled data products in the volume, and all previous volumes, if any. These files reference the PDS labels only (note that there is one label per data product) and provide basic parameters for each data file as a whole. The index file is: INDEX.TAB The required PDS index file for the volume. Path and identifying information are included for each product. INDEX.LBL The label for the volume index table. NOTE: The values for SPACECRAFT_CLOCK_START_COUNT (column 13) and SPACECRAFT_CLOCK_STOP_COUNT (column 15) in the INDEX.TAB file appear in two forms. Some are a simple integer clock counts enclosed within a string . Others have the form / (e.g., " 2/72716444") where the clock partition number is the first non-space character, followed by a slash, followed by the clock count. This is due to how the later label production was done. The absence of a preceding partition number indicates partition 1. In all cases, the MET partitions for the start and stop clock counts precede the count values in columns 12 and 14 respectively. Index Labels and Formats ======================== Each index is provided with a PDS label with the same file name but an extension of ".LBL" rather than ".TAB", which describes the contents of the index in detail.
