This file, ERRATA.TXT, contains release notes and errata concerning the
MESSENGER MLA CDR, RDR, RADR, and GDR archive.

During the course of the MESSENGER mission the MLA science team may update
previously released data products or documentation; for example, updates may
occur due to changes in calibration data or procedures. Updates will be
reported in this file. Older versions of data and documentation will not be
retained in the archive.

Section A of this file contains an entry for each MESSENGER release with
general information about the contents of the release, in order from newest
to oldest.  Updates to previously released files are reported in these
entries, along with any known errata.

Section B of this file contains general notes, if any, concerning the archive
as a whole.

Notes:

1. New versions (V2.0) of the MLA CDR/RDR data set
(MESS-E/V/H-MLA-3/4-CDR/RDR-DATA-V2.0) and the GDR data set
(MESS-E/V/H-MLA-4-GDR-V2.0) are created in this release. Unlike version V1.0,
this version contains only RDRs and a GDR product. These products are derived
from the CDR products in the V1.0 data set. RADR products are not included in
this V2.0 data set.

This new version of the data set was created because the MLA team created new
versions of the RDR products, but wished for the previously created RDR
products to be retained at the PDS and remain available for use. This release 
does not replace the earlier version of the CDR/RDR data set. The GDR
product in this release is a new product, but does partially overlap an
earlier GDR product in the V1.0 version of the GDR data set.

2. A new subdirectory within the DOCUMENT directory of this volume was
added: DOCUMENT/NAVASSMT/. This subdirectory contains a complex set of
supporting files that support the description of the navigation ephemeris
correction measurements performed by the MLA team using MLA data from the
low-altitude campaign conducted during the final months of the mission.
Unlike traditional documentation, this subdirectory contains stand-alone
plots in the form of PNG images and SPICE SPK kernels. See
DOCUMENT/NAVASSMT/NAVINFO.TXT for a full description of these.

3. Unlike the products in the V1.0 data set, which used the mission SPK, the
products in this release are processed using a spacecraft ephemeris computed
by the MLA team at GSFC using MLA and radio science data. This ephemeris is
provided in SPICE SPK kennels archived at the PDS NAIF node (data set ID:
MESS-E/V/H-SPICE-6-V1.0, volume ID: MESSSP_1000).

4. Due to data corruption issues, there are no RDR products corresponding to
the following CDR products in the V1.0 data set:
