PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2014-04-01 NOTE = "AAREADME.TXT describes this volume." END_OBJECT = TEXT END Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) Calibrated and Resampled Science Data (LGRS CDR) Archive Volume ============================================================================ Introduction ============================================================================ This archive (GRAIL_0101) contains calibrated and resampled engineering (e.g., star tracker data and timing) and science data acquired from each of the Lunar Gravity and Ranging System (LGRS) instruments. The data are NASA Level 1A and 1B. The format and content of this and all GRAIL archive volumes are described in the GRAIL Archive Volume Software Interface Specification (ARCHSIS.PDF). The GRAIL Data Product Software Interface Specification (DPSIS.PDF) provides a detailed description of all GRAIL data products. These documents are located in the DOCUMENT directory. ============================================================================ Volume Format ============================================================================ All science data are located in the LEVEL_1A or LEVEL_1B directory. The INDEX directory contains a listing of all of the data products included on the volume. The CATALOG directory contains PDS documentation describing the mission, spacecraft, instrument, and data set. Additional information on volume organization is given in the Archive Volume SIS (described above), and in the section 'Volume Contents' below. ============================================================================ File Formats ============================================================================ The data files on this volume are provided in ASCII format (extension .ASC). Each data file is also accompanied by a detached PDS label file (extension .LBL), an ASCII file containing information describing the data file and data record format. Catalog files (extension .CAT) are provided in ASCII format. Document files describing the volume and the data are given in ASCII and PDF formats. Text files, including data files of ASCII text and all labels (*.LBL) and tables (*.TAB), are delimited with carriage-return (ASCII 13) and line-feed (ASCII 10) pairs at the end of each line. Note that while both label and catalog files are ASCII, some operating systems will not recognize the .LBL and .CAT extensions as ASCII types. It may be necessary to either remap these extensions as ASCII in the system or text browser, or else to open the files from within the text browser. ============================================================================ Volume Contents ============================================================================ Directory Structure and Contents for LGRS CDR Archive Volume The following illustration shows the directory structure overview for the LGRS CDR archive volume, which bears the PDS-assigned volume ID GRAIL_0101. The LEVEL_1A and LEVEL_1B directories are divided into subdirectories by start date, wherein each subdirectory contains all data products for that level and date. |===================================================================| | | | GRAIL-L-LGRS-3-CDR-V1.0 (GRAIL_0101) | | | |===================================================================| | | | root | | | | | |- AAREADME.TXT | | |- ERRATA.TXT | | |- VOLDESC.CAT | | | | | |- [CATALOG] | | | |- CATINFO.TXT | | | |- MISSION.CAT | | | |- INSTHOST_A.CAT | | | |- INSTHOST_B.CAT | | | |- LGRS_A_INST.CAT | | | |- LGRS_B_INST.CAT | | | |- REF.CAT | | | |- PERSON.CAT | | | `- LGRS_CDR_DS.CAT | | | | | |- [DOCUMENT] | | | |- DOCINFO.TXT | | | |- ARCHSIS.HTM | | | |- ARCHSIS.PDF | | | |- ARCHSIS.LBL | | | |- DPSIS.HTM | | | |- DPSIS.PDF | | | |- DPSIS.LBL | | | |- [DPSIS_IMAGES] | | | | |- IMAGE001.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE002.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE003.GIF | | | | |- IMAGE004.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE005.GIF | | | | |- IMAGE006.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE007.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE008.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE009.JPG | | | | |- IMAGE010.JPG | | | |- 090_REVC_1.TXT | | | |- 090_REVC_1.PDF | | | |- 090_REVC_1.LBL | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE_L5.TXT | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE_L5.LBL | | | |- [0159_SCIENCE_L5_IMAGES] | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_1.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_2.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_3.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_4.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_5.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_6.JPG | | | | |- 0159_SCIENCE2_7.JPG | | | |- 0161_TELECOMM_L5_8.TXT | | | |- 0161_TELECOMM_L5_8.PDF | | | |- 0161_TELECOMM_L5_8.LBL | | | |- 0171_TELECOMM_NJPL_L5.TXT | | | |- 0171_TELECOMM_NJPL_L5.PDF | | | |- 0171_TELECOMM_NJPL_L5.LBL | | | |- 0172_TELECOMM_CHDO_REVE_L5.TXT | | | |- 0172_TELECOMM_CHDO_REVE_L5.LBL | | | |- ATBD.PDF | | | |- ATBD.HTM | | | |- [ATBD_IMAGES] | | | | |- IMAGE001.PNG -
