Laminated conglomerate sandstone. High-level Description: Sandstone grains from Unit 2, a laminated, clast-supported fluvial conglomerate. Grains range from 0.2-2.8 mm in diameter, are sub-rounded, and display a rough texture. A small percentage of grains are vesicular, and another small percentage are clear. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Rough, dark, sub-angular to sub-rounded grains. Grain size and sorting: Poorly-sorted mm-scale tephra grains in a clast-supported matrix. No preferred orientation. Grain fabric: Polymodal. Sediment structure: None. Color: Predominantly dark and light-grey grains, with some black and white, and a few red grains.
