Quartz or zeolites deposited in between and through clasts, clast-supported layers with greater pore space surrounded by more matrix-supported tuff. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Rough, sub-angular, grain-supported tephra with larger, sub-angular lithics intermixed. Zeolites growing interstitially in clast-supported pore space. Grain size and sorting: Smaller tephra grains (0.07-1 mm diameter) support occasional lithics up to 1 cm in diameter. No sorting evident other than the existence of alternating coarse- and fine-grained layers. Grain fabric: Random orientation; polymodal. Sediment structure: Parallel lamination Color: Tan, dark grey, black and white grains with clear/white zeolites.
