Ash balls are mixed with smaller, angular to very-angular grains. Lapilli are sub-spherical and average 2-10 mm diameter. Accretionary lapilli occur in a matrix of coarse black/white (0.18-0.4 mm) and finder-grained grey ash, with size decreasing upwards. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Sub-spherical accretionary lapilli grains with granular texture mixed with angular coarse ash. Grain size and sorting: Coarse ash <=0.18 mm supports accretionary lapilli 2mm to 10 mm in diameter, increasing upwards in size. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: Graded bedding. Color: White/black and grey grains.
