Clasts can be divided into: (1) large, frothy sub-rounded, rough clasts from 0.8-5.4 mm in diameter, averaging ~1.5 mm (70%); (2) smaller, smooth, sub-rounded grey to white clasts ~1.0 mm in diameter (20%); and (3) very small brown, round, rough-textured vitreous clasts ~0.5 mm (10%). Vesicles in these clasts are up to 0.7mm in diameter. Scoria are sub-angular to sub-rounded, and are from 0.3 mm-1.7 mm in diameter. Matrix grains are round, smooth, and glassy, with an average size of 0.1mm. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Sub-rounded to sub-angular sub-vitreous to vitreous clasts in a fine, light red-colored, clast-supported matrix. Clasts include frothy and vesicular, smooth and rough-textured clasts. Grain size and sorting: Clast sizes vary from 0.5 to 5.4 mm in diameter. Poorly-sorted. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: None evident. Color: Dark brown, white and black grains in a light-red/tan matrix.
