Poorly-sorted, matrix-supported layer of sub-spherical accretionary lapilli (~1-2 mm) in coarse ash (~0.2 mm). Lapilli and ash are both light grey; ash is composed of sub-round glassy, pitted grains. 80% of layer is ash. A bomb sag is evident in this layer (3718). Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Grey, granular-textured or gritty accretionary lapilli in coarse, somewhat glassy, pitted ash grains. Grain size and sorting: Poorly-sorted accretionary lapilli 1-2 mm diameter in coarse (0.2 mm) ash. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: Parallel lamination. Color: Grey, black, white.
