Rough accretionary lapilli (70-90%) and sub-angular clastics (10-30%). Accretionary lapilli are 1.5-3 mm and are dark grey and granular-textured. Most of the image shows fairly well-sorted grains about 2 mm in diameter, though five larger grains about 4 mm can be seen. There is no matrix and no internal layering. Ash is composed of dark grey to brown, glassy, sub-rounded to rounded grains about 70 microns in diameter. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Dark grey granular-textured accretionary lapilli and smoother-textured sub-angular clastics in a brown-grey, glassy ash. Grain size and sorting: Poorly-sorted ash 0.07 mm in size supporting 1.5-3 mm diameter accretionary lapilli. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: None evident. Color: Grey to brown.
