High-level Description: Unit 1. Poorly-sorted, angular, vesicular grey airfall
layer coarsening up from about 4 mm. Olivine crystals are present. Some clasts
have buff coating.

Texture
  Grain morphology and appearance: Very angular to sub-rounded grains in a
clast-supported matrix. Texture of individual grains is rough and rubbly.
  Grain size and sorting: Well-sorted, coarsening-upwards clasts 1-4 mm
diameter
  Grain fabric:  Random orientation.

Sediment structure:  Parallel lamination.

Color: Grey to buff, some clear glassy fragments. A scattering of red
fragments.
