Scoria layer 7 cm thick, comprised of angular, sub-mm to 5 mm diameter grains, most averaging 2-3 mm across. Layer is finely laminated, but coarser near the top of the layer. Layer is predominantly grey, with larger buff grains. Opalized detritus is also present. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Angular to sub-rounded grey scoria grains mixed with larger buff grains and olivine crystals. Texture is rough and rubbly. Grain size and sorting: Grains are poorly-sorted, and sub-mm to 5 mm diameter, averaging 2-3 mm. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: Parallel lamination. Color: Grey and buff with some clear-green olivine.
