Angular to sub-rounded, poorly-sorted unconsolidated fragments, 200 microns to 10 mm in size. Lithology appears to be varied, with basalt grains dominating. Grains are wet, so reflectance is high. Texture Grain morphology and appearance: Angular to sub-rounded; sphericity is intermediate to high (0.68-0.81); grains are dull and somewhat rough in texture. Average size is 800 microns. Grain size and sorting: Fine/medium sand up to very small cobbles; very poorly sorted. Grain fabric: Random orientation. Sediment structure: none. Color: Dark grey/black (basaltic) grains predominate, though 5% are white/tan, reddish or clear.
