The data are processed based on the telemetry that LOLA receives from the LRO MOC as part of the real-time and post-pass spacecraft and instrument housekeeping and measurement telemetry. Processing is also based on fire time files from the Next Generation Satellite Laser Ranging (NGSLR) station and the other nine participating laser ranging stations from the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS). These files are transferred to the LOLA SOC via the Crustal Dynamics Data Information System. From February 2013 onwards, NGSLR's timing source, an H-maser, was monitored against the nearby United States Naval Observatory (USNO) master clock via an All-view GPS receiver [SUNETAL2013]. The timing source at station McDonald (MDOL), a Cs clock, was also monitored against the USNO master clock using the same method starting in April 2014. This process improved the ground timing precision at NGSLR to less than 10 ns over 20 months, and that at MDOL to about 10 ns over 7 months [MAOETAL2016]. Instead of the raw ground station laser transmit time from NGSLR and MDOL, the ground station laser fire times were calibrated with respect to the USNO master clock in this new version of the LR full-rate files."
