It is updated with each release of PIXL data. Section A of this document contains an entry for each PIXL release with general information about the contents of the release, in order from newest to oldest. Updates to previously released files are reported in these entries, along with any known errata. Section B of this file contains general notes and errata, if any, concerning the archive as a whole. ******** SECTION A ******** ------------------------------------------------------------ Release Number: 5 Release Date: 2022-11-21 Data Coverage: 2022-04-26 to 2022-08-26 (Sols 420-539) New products have been added to these collections: urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_imaging urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_oxide_pmc urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_processed urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_ancillary urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_spectroscopy Products have been revised in these collections: None. Comments and Errata: 1. Bulk Sum Quantitative Analysis (product ID: RBQ) files have been added to this release for Sols 0001 - 0539. 2. A new collection has been added: data_oxides_pmc, which has compositional point-by-point results for each detector. See the readme.txt file in the root directory for more details. The products in this collection are also described in an updated version of the pixl_rdr_sis.pdf file located in the document collection. ------------------------------------------------------------ Release Number: 4 Release Date: 2022-07-22 Data Coverage: 2021-12-23 to 2022-04-24 (Sols 300-419) New products have been added to these collections: urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_imaging urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_processed urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_ancillary urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_spectroscopy Products have been revised in these collections: None. Comments and Errata: 1. Calculated X-ray beam locations for the Sol 367 calibration target measurement (PIXL RTT: 130089473) are incorrect for many images collected at high standoff distances. X-ray beam locations for MCC images at PMC 0027, 0029, and 0030 are correct ------------------------------------------------------------ Release Number: 3 Release Date: 2022-03-22 Data Coverage: 2021-08-22 to 2021-12-22 (Sols 180-299) New products have been added to these collections: urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_imaging urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_processed urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_ancillary urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_spectroscopy Products have been revised in these collections: None. Comments and Errata: 1. Sol 167 RFS and RPM data products were omitted in the Release 2 Bundle, and are included in Release 3. ------------------------------------------------------------ Release Number: 2 Release Date: 2021-11-22 Data Coverage: 2021-05-21 to 2021-08-21 (Sols 90-179) New products have been added to these collections: urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_imaging urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_processed urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_ancillary urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_spectroscopy Products have been revised in these collections: None. Comments and errata: None. ------------------------------------------------------------ Release Number: 1 Release Date: 2021-08-20 Data Coverage: 2021-02-18 through 2021-05-20 (Sol 0-89) New products have been added to these collections: urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_imaging urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_processed urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_ancillary urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:data_raw_spectroscopy urn:nasa:pds:mars2020_pixl:document Products have been revised in these collections: None. Comments and errata: 1. PIXL raw data products generated for sols 0003, 0013, 0014, 0015, 0018, 0028, 0051, 0070, and 0074 are not expected to have corresponding RDR (data_processed collection) products. Data collected on these sols consist of instrument checkouts, imaging only measurements, and X-ray tube conditioning. 2. ESF products from the data_raw_ancillary collection are not included in this release because of a processing issue. They will be added at with later release. 3. In labels for raw data, the product version_id and the Modification_Detail version_id should be the same. In most cases the Modification_Detail version_id is 1.0, even if the product version_id is different. This label error will be corrected in a later release. 4. Labels for raw data include the class Source_Product_Internal, which is inappropriate for raw data. Also, the LIDVID reference may have an incorrect version number, or may not include the complete logical identifier of the source product. These label errors will be corrected in a later release. 5. In the labels for raw spectroscopy products containing spectral data, the spectral channels are described as separate fields. In a later release labels will be revised to describe the spectral channels as a group of related fields for greater usability. ******** SECTION B ******** This section is for general notes and errata, if any. Trapezoidal geometric correction of all PIXL MCC images, along with updated image coordinate positions of these corrected images (included in files with the RXL product ID), will be included in a future PDS bundle release. Effects from pulse pileup and Compton escape in the detectors are included in the calculation column of RBQ files, but are not separated into individual columns. For measurements collected overnight, RDR data products use the Sol and SCLK at the start of the observation in the Sol and SCLK fields of the filename. An exception to this rule is the RCM files, which use the Sol and SCLK of the image acquisition time.
