INTRODUCTION
=============================================================================

    The CATALOG directory contains the files which define the catalog objects
(i.e., the *.CAT files).  These files are required by the PDS and are a
standard component of an archive.  These files are structured text files
written in Object Description Language (ODL) which is a standard structured
text language for science product metadata and labels archived at the PDS.

DIRECTORY CONTENTS
=============================================================================

MISSION.CAT                Describes the overall mission, its objectives,
                           destination, and duration.

INSTHOST.CAT               Describes the MESSENGER spacecraft that is
                           carrying the Radio Science "instrument" and the
                           ground elements, primarily the DSN.

PERSON.CAT                 Lists and provides contact information for
                           cognizant personnel who can provide information
                           about and support for the data products contained
                           in the archive.

INST.CAT                   Describes the "Radio Science" instrument.

RSRDR_DS.CAT               The DATA_SET_CATALOG file describes the
                           data set that contains the spherical harmonics
                           gravity (GGMES_20V<nn>) and shape (GTMES_24VK<nn>)
                           products and the occultation summary
                           (MESS_RS_OCC_V<nn>) product and associated
                           documentation.

REF.CAT                    Contains references to external documents both
                           published or otherwise available that relate to
                           the products in this data set.

CATINFO.TXT                Describes the contents of the CATALOG directory
                           within this archive volume.
