Columns 1-3 give the Earth receive time for events in hours, minutes, and seconds from 0 h UTC; column 4 is the same time in seconds from 0 h. Column 5 gives the base name of the pre-processed data (output from program PREPFND) which captured the event. Add '.PRP' to the base name to get the full file name. Column 6 gives the spacecraft high-gain antenna (HGA) pointing with values as follows: Earth HGA is pointed to Earth BSR HGA is aimed at the specular point on Venus SLEW HGA is somewhere between Earth and BSR pointing Column 7 gives the orbit number. Note that orbit numbers changed during the BSR activities and that S-Band observations were carried out on alternating orbits. Column 8 gives the S-Band receiver tuning offset that was applied (dFRO, in Hz). For dFRO = -1000, the frequency of signals in the receiver output spectrum would appear to have been shifted higher by +1000 Hz after 2 seconds. The delay allowed the programmable local oscillator to change continuously. Between dFRO events (manual offsets), the local oscillator was being driven by a table which accounted for relative motions of the spacecraft, receiver, and target. Column 9 gives incidence/reflection angle (deg) at the specular point on the surface. This value has not been corrected for refraction. Columns 10 and 11 give the latitude (deg N) and longitude (deg E) of the specular point on the surface. These values have not been corrected for refraction. Column 12 gives brief comments. ODR is Original Data Record (the output of the receiver, which was recorded on magnetic tape).
