PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2007-10-12 NOTE = "Description of the DATA directory contents." END_OBJECT = TEXT END DATA Directory Contents The DATA directory contains MOLA AEDR data files with attached PDS labels. Data are organized into folders of the format AAnnXXX, where nn is the first two digits of the five-digit orbit number. Within each folder, the file names have the format AAnnnnnv.B, where nnnnn is the orbit number and v is a letter representing the product version. MOLA products from the Orbit Insertion Phase of the mission contain one orbit per file. Mapping Phase products are aggregated by day, so that one file contains a variable number of orbits. For Mapping Phase products, the orbit number in the file name and the product ID refers to the first orbit covered by that product. At the beginning of the Mapping Phase the MGS Project chose to reset the orbit count to 1, starting at the descending equator crossing of actual orbit 1683. To preserve a unique orbit number for identifying MOLA products, the MOLA Team adds 10000 to the Project orbit number for products created during the Mapping Phase.
