Anomalies --------- There were 229 POCA records out of order and one missing data record. Our PREPPOWER program failed because the number of samples exceeded the program storage. We have not processed this much time from a single open loop data acquisition session before; although we regret the error, the fact that we encountered it is a tribute to the stability of (some aspects of) the data acquisition system. Storage on the SOPC should not be a problem; we will increase the array size. The signal during this session was not centered in the 100 Hz passband. In fact, there was some confusion at the beginning as Trish Priest tried to locate it using manually entered frequency offsets (FROs). The result is instructive, however. The image we had postulated previously to be a third harmonic of the carrier appears in these data as an almost perfect (albeit attenuated) replica at the high end of the spectrum. When the carrier is near 10 Hz, the image is near 70 Hz; when the carrier is near 40 Hz, the image is near 100 Hz (Figure 1). Based on scattered sightings, we had previously postulated that the image was a third harmonic of the carrier. These data clearly show that there is no multiplicative relationship between the carrier and image frequencies. Figures ======= Plots(s) illustrate some of the points made in the text. Each plot is a PostScript file, created and printable on our SOPC. For report HEAdyyyC.TXT figure N will be labeled HEAyddd.PSN and sent as the N+1st e-mail message. We assume that you can strip off the e-mail headers and create hard copies on a machine in your area. People who have indicated they cannot handle these files by e-mail are not included in e-mail distribution of figures.
