Anomalies --------- Attenuators were apparently not set properly for the first run; for about a minute at the beginning, the ADC's were being overdriven. On the second run, there is a very distinctive 1 dB peak-to-peak sinusoidal amplitude oscillation with period approximately 40 seconds (see Figure HEA7227A.PS1). During the third and seventh runs, there were unexplained changes in carrier amplitude of about 1 dB, spread over about 3-5 minutes. On the remainder of the runs, amplitude variations were on the order of 0.4 dB peak-to-peak or less. There was no sign of spurs in power spectra. Quantization errors, noted by Joe Twicken in recent reports, appear to continue in these data. Figure HEA7227A.PS1: Very regular 1 dB amplitude oscillations appeared 1n data from the second run in RS ORT #5 (the first simulated egress occultation). Cause is unknown. No such oscillations appeared during any of the other seven runs, though there were two "random" changes in amplitude of slightly less magnitude -- one in the third run and one in the seventh.
