The timing is as follows: 00:20:00 Precal for DSS 15 04:22:38 USO Test begins. KaBLE off. S4 switch at B (MOT 2 VCO) 04:52:38 KaBLE on. S4 same. 05:22:38 S4 switch at A (MOT 1 VCO) 05:52:38 KaBLE off. S4 same. 06:22:38 S4 switch at C (USO) 06:52:38 KaBLE on. S4 same 07:22:38 End USO Test. 07:50:00 End of Track There isn't a lot of time to retransmit data at the end of the track, but we are doing a GWE rehearsal on Monday, so we can do a brief retransmission then if necessary. -Trish -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From trish@rodan.jpl.nasa.gov Mon Mar 31 08:42:02 1997 Received: from 128.149.43.3 (james.jpl.nasa.gov [128.149.43.3]) by rodan.Jpl.Nasa.Gov (8.8.5/8.6.6) with SMTP id IAA05918; Mon, 31 Mar 1997 08:40:05 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <199703311640.IAA05918@rodan.Jpl.Nasa.Gov> Date: 31 Mar 97 08:45:25 -0800 From: Trish Priest Subject: KaBLE/USO Test Report To: Bill Adams , Stan Butman , Dick Simpson , Joe Twicken , Len Tyler Cc: Sami Asmar , Dave Morabito , Tom Thorpe X-Mailer: QuickMail Pro 1.0.1 X-Priority: 3 Reply-To: Trish Priest Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Status: RO The KaBLE/USO test went well. Everything went according to the schedule in my previous message. If you are going to query data, use those times. The DSP was set up for a standard USO test - 5000 sps, 2.5kHz BW, 12-bit, mode 2. I will be doing any necessary retransmissions during the DSS 15 pass on Monday evening (DOY 091). There is a telemetry-off USO test during that track. The GWE rehearsal for DSS 15 is on Wednesday evening (DOY 093). Please let me know if you have any questions. -Trish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From joe Wed Apr 2 18:00:35 1997 Received: from neptune.stanford.edu. KaBLE went through six combinations of ON/OFF and frequency reference: (a) 04:22:38 Test begins. KaBLE off. S4 switch at B (MOT 2 VCO) (b) 04:52:38 KaBLE on. S4 same. (c) 05:22:38 S4 switch at A (MOT 1 VCO) (d) 05:52:38 KaBLE off. S4 same. (e) 06:22:38 S4 switch at C (USO) (f) 06:52:38 KaBLE on. S4 same The open-loop data were acquired in sampling mode 2 at 5 ksps with 12 bits per sample. The data were steered with the spk_c_970129-970510 SP-kernel file. The product creation date for this kernel was 97/083. The Allan Deviation for each of the segments is as follows (all AD values are times 1e-13): t, sec AD-a AD-b AD-c AD-d AD-e AD-f 0.4096 3.3486 3.1405 3.3121 3.2476 3.4243 3.4917 1.6384 1.8247 1.9014 1.7420 1.9206 2.1654 2.4809 3.2768 1.5305 1.7388 1.4423 1.6557 1.7641 1.8549 6.5536 1.2461 1.4239 1.0009 1.2077 1.0002 1.3306 26.2144 0.9236 0.9019 0.8943 1.0516 0.8454 0.9296 The frequency stability was comparable in all cases. The worst overall performance was case (f) above with KaBLE on and S4 switch at C (USO). At the shorter integration times, the next worst performance was case (e) above with KaBLE off and S4 switch at C (USO). At the middle to long integration times, the performance of case (b) with KaBLE on and switch S4 at B (MOT 2 VCO) was also amongst the worse.
