Hello, Joe,

MGS went to the LGA on DOY 227 because it was off-Earth point for a MOC
Mars approach image.  There will be several approach images in the next
week or so.  I will send you a list of when to expect switches to the
LGA, etc.

The applicable SOE for this period is c1003.00.soe.

We won't be doing any open-loop recording.  It is just for information.
There will be 8 scans between the DOY 231 DSS 65 pass and the DOY 233
DSS 65 pass.  Dick noted in a Health Report that the spacecraft went to
the LGA, and he didn't know why.  I'm just giving you all a heads up
that it will be happening a lot over the next few days.

The one on DOY 227 was actually a star picture in preparation for the
eight approach images of Mars that will be taken this week.
