The last sentence in the first paragraph read "The SPC server failure was not noticed until both 9597i and 9598i had been lost." The occultations should have been 9596i and 9597i. Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- We have transferred the following open loop data to Stanford: YYYY/DDD DSS DSP SAMP BW DSP BIT REC RECS RECS MAX START STOP RATE MODE RESN LEN MSSG SNR -------- --- -------- -------- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----- ---- ----- 2001/122 43 22:24:00 22:30:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 1801 0 21.6 Anomalies --------- The spacecraft remains in contingency mode. The signal level is currently too low to warrant retrieval of atmospheric profiles from open-loop occultation data. We did query for and examine one occultation data set yesterday (9617i at DSS 43, start time 2001/122-22:24:00). Even with the 70m antenna at DSS 43, the maximum SNR for this recording was more than 35 dB less than we have been accustomed to observing recently. We will likely wait until the signal level has been restored before querying for additional open-loop data. Analysis -------- Following a suggestion from Dave Hinson, Joe Twicken has recalculated Allan Deviation (A-D) for open loop carrier data which may have been contaminated by ionospheric effects. The data were collected starting 2000/353-19:01:00. The times over which A-D was collected were changed from 120 s or more before ingress to 150 s or more before ingress. The old and new results are compared at six integration times below and show that the ionosphere increased A-D by more than a factor of 2 at the longest integration times: t, sec Discard 120 sec Discard 150 sec ------ --------------- --------------- 0.4096 8.3170e-13 8.2378e-13 0.8192 3.8365e-13 3.7316e-13 1.6384 2.6373e-13 2.4467e-13 3.2768 2.2108e-13 2.1380e-13 6.5536 2.1468e-13 1.6489e-13 26.2144 6.0760e-13 2.5740e-13 Closed Loop Data ================ Data Collection --------------- We have obtained the following files from OSCAR: Original File Name Name on SOPC -------------------------------- ------------ ODF: 01121O122_10S.SJO; 11121122A.ODF ODF: 01122O123_10S.SJO; 11122123A.ODF Ancillary Data ============== Data Collection --------------- We have obtained the following files from the FIS: Original File Name Name on SOPC -------------------------------- ------------ AMD: amdgen.01-123.out 1121121A.AMD OPT: optg_m_010503_OD9624-9625_9875_V1 1123144A.OPT SAK: mgs_solar_array_2001-121.ck 1121121A.SAK SOE: mm138a.01.tsoe 1130133A.SOE SOE: mm139a.01.tsoe 1133137A.SOE SPK: spk_m_010503_OD9624-9625_9875_V1 1123144A.SPK TCK: mgs_spice_c_kernel_2001-121.ck 1121121A.TCK We have obtained the following files from NAIF: Original File Name Name on SOPC -------------------------------- ------------ AGK: mgs_hga_ck_2001-04-23.bc 1113113A.AGK
