PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2001-07-13 NOTE = "MGS RST Instrument Health Report HEA1194A.TXT" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Miscellaneous ============= New SecurID cards have been received. Matt Steiner continues to use an existing (operating card), but we will switch him to his new card shortly. Dick Simpson's card has been tested successfully. Joe Twicken is on vacation; we will test his new card next week. Power will be off in our building at Stanford tomorrow (2001-06-14) from 15 h to 23 h UT. Persons trying to access magellan.stanford.edu for data will be unable to connect. The following status report on MOLA was relayed by Frank Lemoine from David Smith: As you are aware we have been studying the recent thermal anomaly suffered by MOLA nearly 2 weeks ago that caused us to turn the instrument off. The tentative conclusion of the Instrument Team is that the likely cause appears to be an interruption of the 10 Hz laser trigger signal from the MOLA altimeter electronics that caused the laser to stop firing, and therefore cool down. In order for us to understand further this event we have requested that MOLA to be turned back on. Yesterday, the MGS Project approved a turn-on command for MOLA that will be executed around noon on Saturday EDT. The turn-on, that we have called a "flight diagnostic test", will include putting the instrument into maintenance mode and will last approximately 1 hour. MOLA will be commanded off at the conclusion of the test, even if it should appear to be working normally. We will be looking at the data returned by the spacecraft early next week and we will keep you posted. Dave Eckart (LMCO) reports the spacecraft fuel and mass status as of day 190 as follows. The daily fuel consumption is slightly larger (approximately 1 g/day) since returning to the nominal HGA mapping configuration. Yaw unloads are occurring on average once every 30 hours (an increase of 6 hours per unload in the last week). The Spin unloads are still on AEM egress control and are occuring every third orbit. 24.17 Kg Hydrazine remaining 0.497 Kg used over last 18 days (Nominal HGA mapping) Average daily usage over the last 18 days = 27.6 g/day Spacecraft Mass = 674.52 Kg (dry mass) + 5.289 Kg (Ox) + 24.17 Kg (Fuel) = 703.98 Kg (Total Mass) Engineering Data ================ Engineering Data Statistical Summary from CSV2STAT: First SCET: 2001-07-11T00:00:03.719 Last SCET: 2001-07-11T23:59:59.707 CHANNL CHANNEL TITLE DN-LO DN-HI EU-LO EU-HI EU-AVG/STDEV RECDS ------ ------------- ----- ----- --------- --------- ---------/-------- ----- F-0190 HGA_AZ_ANG 4118 4174 1.01E+00 1.02E+00 1.01E+00/6.39E-05 2699 F-0195 HGA_EL_ANG -11233 11089 -2.74E+00 2.71E+00 -8.89E-01/3.55E-02 2699 L-0034 MOT1_RANGING 0 0 5400 L-0036 MOT1_TLM_MOD 0 0 5400 L-0037 MOT1_USO_ENA 0 0 5400 L-0044 MOT2_RANGING 1 1 5400 L-0046 MOT2_TLM_MOD 0 1 5400 L-0047 MOT2_USO_ENA 1 1 5400 L-0053 RF_SW_OSC 2 2 5400 L-0060 TWTA1_FILMNT 0 0 5400 L-0061 TWTA1_HV 0 0 5399 L-0070 TWTA2_FILMNT 1 1 5399 L-0071 TWTA2_HV 0 1 5400 L-0080 USO_PWR 0 0 5400 L-0090 KaBLE_STAT 0 0 5400 L-0091 KaBLE_ENABLE 1 1 5399 L-0111 MOT1_RCV_AGC 255 255 -1.53E+02 -1.53E+02 -1.53E+02/8.20E-07 5400 L-0121 MOT2_RCV_AGC 126 255 -1.53E+02 -1.13E+02 -1.38E+02/2.39E-01 5400 L-0131 TWTA1_HLX_I 0 1 -3.84E-02 -1.85E-02 -3.83E-02/1.94E-05 5400 L-0132 TWTA1_ANOD_V 0 1 -1.00E+03 -1.00E+03 -1.00E+03/1.13E-02 675 L-0141 TWTA2_HLX_I 17 42 2.86E-01 7.85E-01 5.64E-01/2.77E-03 5400 L-0142 TWTA2_ANOD_V 62 230 -8.64E+02 -5.28E+02 -7.11E+02/6.30E+00 675 L-0200 USO_REG_V 203 205 4.06E+00 4.10E+00 4.08E+00/2.60E-04 674 L-0201 USO_OVEN_V 128 131 2.56E+00 2.62E+00 2.59E+00/3.86E-04 674 T-0302 EPC1_T 173 196 -4.19E+00 5.28E+00 4.91E-01/1.09E-01 675 T-0303 EPC2_T 175 191 -2.00E+00 4.49E+00 7.16E-01/7.48E-02 675 T-0310 RF_ISOLTR1_T 226 232 -4.77E+00 2.12E+00 -2.02E+00/1.93E-02 5400 T-0311 RF_ISOLTR2_T 216 233 -6.05E+00 1.09E+01 3.08E+00/6.68E-02 5400 T-0312 TWT1_T 225 232 -4.77E+00 3.13E+00 -6.30E-01/5.95E-02 675 T-0313 TWT2_T 210 233 -6.05E+00 1.50E+01 5.25E+00/2.67E-01 675 T-0315 USO_T 140 143 2.09E+01 2.17E+01 2.13E+01/7.67E-03 675 T-0316 KA_AMP_T 212 219 8.56E+00 1.37E+01 1.10E+01/4.58E-02 675 L-0200, L-0201, and T-0315 are nominal. The earlier query ended at 16:22:00, however, because of a typo in the message announcing the data. The new query (above) covers the full data acquisition period, and captures the ingress occultation. Both files will be retained since the earlier version has already been written to archival CD. Data from occultation 10495e (DSS 45, start time 2001/194-16:31:00) have not been found. Cause is unknown. Data from occultation 10495i (DSS 45, start time 2001/194-18:00:00) have +/-0.5 dB 40 s oscillations on sample power, both before and after ingress. Cause for this is unknown.
