The rewind appears to be very nearly centered between ingress and egress, affecting the ingress somewhat more severely. The HGA is slightly off Earth point during normal operations as evidenced by a 0.5 dB "overshoot" in carrier amplitude as the HGA settles back into position following the rewind at egress. Transient surface echoes are observable during many occultations before or after the rewind begins. Occultation 10550e (DSS 45, start time 2001/199-04:26:00) is further corrupted by an apparent failure of the ground antenna to track the spacecraft as it was coming out of occultation. The anomalous activity lasted about 2 minutes.
