Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- No new data. Analysis -------- Joe Twicken has completed his comparison of data collected simultaneously using the (old) DSP and the (new) RSR on 2001/262-263. We intended that the RSR data be collected in 16-bit I/16-bit Q mode, but a configuration error resulted in their being 8-bit samples. The test will be repeated in 16-bit mode. These results compare Allan Deviations derived from 12-bit DSP data and 8-bit RSR data. Joe's slightly edited report: I have processed the ODR and 8 RSR's recorded from 2001/262-23:35:00 to 2001/263-00:40:00, and calculated the Allan deviation from each recording. The ODR was recorded at 5 ksps with 12 bits/sample (real only). The RSR's were recorded at 1, 2, 4 and 8 ksps with 8 bit I and 8 bit Q (complex). The RSR's were operated with both RS and DSN predicts. The results between RSR and ODR are comparable, even though it was intended that the sampling resolution for the RSR's be 16 bits. The Allan deviation calculations for ODR and RSR's are included below. Figure HEA1275A.PS1 compares the 5 ksps real ODR results with the 2 ksps complex RSR results.
