Analyses -------- Joe Twicken has completed analysis of RSR and DSP (ODR) data collected on 2001/284. DSP data were collected in the normal configuration; RSR data were collected in 8 different configurations. To the extent we can compare the data, the quality appears to be the same in all cases. Joe reports: I have processed the ODR and 8 RSR's recorded from 2001/284-19:30:00 to 2001/284-20:35:00 at DSS 63, and calculated the Allan deviation from each recording. The ODR was recorded at 5 kHz with 12 bits/sample (real only). The RSR's were recorded at 1, 2, 4 and 8 kHz with 8 bit I/8 bit Q (complex) and with 16 bit I/16 bit Q. The results between RSR and ODR are comparable at all sample rates and with both RSR sample resolutions. The SNR during the recording interval was approximately 47 dB/Hz. It would still be nice to compare the performance of 8 and 16 bit RSR sampling with spacecraft telemetry off (and substantially higher signal level).
