Users of Odyssey radio tracking data who have problems or notice defects or weaknesses in the archive, should follow the instructions under "Note" so that the archive can be improved. Stanford's connection with RSR_MASTER_QueryServer was interrupted last night while we were collecting open loop data. After tests this morning, we contacted Data Control who said system upgrades were in progress on the host machine and it might be off line for a week. We submitted ISA Z74736. Since then Aseel Anabtawi has reported that there were discussions over shceduling the upgrades last week, but that the information was never forwarded to Stanford. Curt Eaton thinks RSR_MASTER may be back in service later today. The SNR returned to normal levels for the rest of this pass (occultations 13592i-13594i) although the carrier level remained noisy (+/-0.3 dB). Data collected from DSS 54 occultation 13597i (start time 2002/083- 09:14:00) was corrupted by +/-0.5 dB 60 second sinusoidal modulation of ALL samples (both with and without carrier) over the entire measurement. The rest of the occultations from this pass have not yet been retrieved because of query server problems (see above). We have noted a systematic loss of about 2 dB in carrier level since the spacecraft began Beta Supplement operations. The loss appears just after 0h on 2002/073 and can be seen in both open loop data (our MAX SNR, in the table above) and in AGC levels reported in the DSN Monitor data. The signal is weaker both when telemetry is on and when it is off. Sami Asmar is investigating.
