PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2002-04-03 NOTE = "MGS RST Instrument Health Report HEA2093A.TXT" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Miscellaneous ============= MGS is currently in Contingency Mode. Yesterday afternoon, Aseel Anabtawi sent the following information from Pauline Hwang: DSN lost the signal for MGS on 2002/091-22:10:30. SCT regained signal a few hours later and has confirmed that MGS is in C-mode. We are currently at a 10bps data rate. The exact C-mode entry time is not known right now. ROTO build has been canceled. Aseel also reported that there will be further updates after this morning's status meeting. It appears that the slowness in making queries from Stanford to RSR_MASTER_QueryServer reported in MGS RST Inst Health Report HEA2086A.txt have been resolved, the speed seems to be back to normal. This measurement was over 10 minutes instead of the typical 11 minutes. Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 13687i (start time 2002/090-17:50:00) had SNR levels 2dB lower than expected. Data from DSS 15 occultation 13788i (start time 2002/090-19:48:00) had SNR levels 2dB lower than expected and a 2dB drop in the noise power about 90 seconds after ingress. Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 13691i (start time 2002/091-01:41:00) had SNR levels 1dB lower than expected. Data collected from DSS 15 occultations 13692i (start time 2002/091-03:39:00) had SNR levels 2dB lower than expected with a -0.5dB drift over 6 minutes. There was also a 2dB increase in the noise power 90 seconds after ingress. There were no occultations collected at two different antennas before MGS went into Contingency Mode.
