Except for minor differences in noise and sampling, we expect data from parallel RSRs to be identical. This has been the case in previous tests (see HEA2116A.TXT and HEA2143A.TXT) and was true for all of the data collected on days 150 through 152 except for four occultations captured at DSS 65. RSR1A signal-to-noise in power spectra is slightly degraded (less than 0.1 dB) for 14444i and 14445i. We have asked Aseel Anabtawi to investigate. Occultation Start Time RSR1A Modulation ----------- ----------------- ----------------------------- 14443i 2002/152-13:20:00 Weak, hi-frequency modulation 14444i 2002/152-15:18:00 +/-0.15 dB, 3 s period 14445i 2002/152-17:15:00 +/-0.2 dB, 18 s period 14446i 2002/152-19:13:00 Weak, hi-frequency modulation Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 14435i (start time 2002/151-21:38:00) had SNR levels about 1 dB lower than expected. This was the first measurement in the pass. Data collected from DSS 15 occultations 14436i and 14438i (start times 2002/152-01:34:00 and 03:31:00) had +/- 0.2 dB random carrier fluctuations. Data collected from DSS 65 occultation 14441i (start time 2002/152-09:25:00) had SNR levels about 1 dB lower than expected. This was the first measurement in the pass. Data collected from DSS 63 occultation 14443i (start time 2002/152-13:20:00) had a +0.2 dB ramp in the noise level immediately after ingress. Data collected from DSS 63 occultation 14444i (start time 2002/152-15:18:00) had +/- 0.3 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude. Data collected from DSS 63 occultation 14446i (start time 2002/152-19:13:00) has a free-space carrier amplitude that begins about 3 dB lower than expected with +/- 0.3 dB random fluctuations and stays relatively level for about 20s. Then the carrier jumps back up about 3 dB to a normal gain level with rapid +/- 1 dB oscillations for about 100 seconds. Then it drops back down 3 dB to the low level with +/- 0.3 dB carrier fluctuations for about 100 s before a final jump up 3 dB with returning rapid +/- 1 dB carrier oscillations into ingress. The noise level after ingress appears to be stable.
