The change in USO temperature appears to have been +0.2C on day 258; the following day it was half, and by day 260 the USO temperature had returned to its 'normal' value of 19.4C. A change of this magnitude should not affect radio science. I left you a voice mail today stating that DOY 258 was when we had all of the back-to-back ROTO's and the reaction wheels got warmer and as a result most of the internal equipment also saw a corresponding temperature increase. All of the temperature increases were minor in terms of equipment allowable. But I guess we need to be aware that any time there are back-to-back ROTO's there will be a temperature increase in the USO. The first measurement collected on day 263 at DSS 65 (occultation 15797i, start time 2002/263-05:48:00) had max SNR and free-space carrier levels about 3 dB lower than expected, with +/-0.5 dB fluctuations in the carrier amplitude over the course of the measurement. Data collected from DSS 65 occultation 15798i (start time 2002/263- 07:45:00) had +/-0.3 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude. There was also an unusual +1 dB ramp in the noise level that began about 80 seconds after ingress. Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 15803i (start time 2002/263- 17:34:00) had a -0.5 dB drop in the free-space carrier amplitude level about 30 seconds after telemetry turned off. The carrier level was then stable. The last measurement collected on day 263 at DSS 15 (occultation 15805i, start time 2002/263-21:29:00) had a -1 dB ramp in the carrier level over the course of the entire measurement. Date collected from occultation 15805i at DSS 45 (start time 2002/263- 21:29:00) did not include the very beginning of the measurement. Only the last three minutes before ingress were captured. The entire measurement was successfully collected on DSS 15, however.
