Elias Barbinis and Gene Goltz assisted with operations. The Radio Science egress campaign ended earlier this morning. Radio Science operations at JPL were staffed continuously during the egress measurements. The SNR at SPC-60 was lower than expected due to heavy rain; but, other than that, things went well and 10 egress measurements were successfully acquired: Occult DOY Beg/End Record DSS Begin Record Local Time (UTC) (PDT) ------ --- -------------- -- ----------------------- 15924e 273 1342/1352 15 Mon 9/30 6:42 a.m. 15925e 1540/1550 15 Mon 9/30 8:40 a.m. 15926e 1737/1747 15 Mon 9/30 10:37 a.m. 15927e 1935/1945 15 Mon 9/30 12:35 p.m. 15928e 2133/2143 34 Mon 9/30 2:33 p.m. 15929e 2330/2340 34 Mon 9/30 4:30 p.m. 15930e 274 0128/0138 34 Mon 9/30 6:28 p.m. 15931e -- Station coverage gap; not captured 15932e -- Station coverage gap; not captured 15933e 0721/0731 65 Tue 10/1 12:21 a.m. 15934e 0919/0929 63 Tue 10/1 2:19 a.m. 15935e 1117/1127 63 Tue 10/1 4:19 a.m. Engineering Data ================ Engineering Data Statistical Summary from CSV2STAT: First SCET: 2002-09-29T00:00:05.943 Last SCET: 2002-09-29T23:59:57.929 CHANNL CHANNEL TITLE DN-LO DN-HI EU-LO EU-HI EU-AVG/STDEV RECDS ------ ------------- ----- ----- --------- --------- ---------/-------- ----- F-0190 HGA_AZ_ANG 6424 11497 1.57E+00 2.81E+00 2.64E+00/7.68E-03 2498 F-0195 HGA_EL_ANG -11233 11089 -2.74E+00 2.71E+00 -6.53E-01/3.28E-02 2498 L-0034 MOT1_RANGING 0 0 5001 L-0036 MOT1_TLM_MOD 0 0 5001 L-0037 MOT1_USO_ENA 0 0 5001 L-0044 MOT2_RANGING 1 1 5001 L-0046 MOT2_TLM_MOD 0 1 5001 L-0047 MOT2_USO_ENA 1 1 5001 L-0053 RF_SW_OSC 2 2 5001 L-0060 TWTA1_FILMNT 0 0 5001 L-0061 TWTA1_HV 0 0 5000 L-0070 TWTA2_FILMNT 0 1 5000 L-0071 TWTA2_HV 0 1 5001 L-0080 USO_PWR 0 0 5001 L-0090 KaBLE_STAT 0 0 5001 L-0091 KaBLE_ENABLE 1 1 5000 L-0111 MOT1_RCV_AGC 255 255 -1.53E+02 -1.53E+02 -1.53E+02/7.42E-07 5001 L-0121 MOT2_RCV_AGC 163 255 -1.53E+02 -1.28E+02 -1.48E+02/1.22E-01 5001 L-0131 TWTA1_HLX_I 0 1 -3.84E-02 -1.85E-02 -3.82E-02/2.50E-05 5001 L-0132 TWTA1_ANOD_V 0 1 -1.00E+03 -1.00E+03 -1.00E+03/1.63E-02 625 L-0141 TWTA2_HLX_I 17 43 2.86E-01 8.05E-01 4.98E-01/2.83E-03 5001 L-0142 TWTA2_ANOD_V 62 229 -8.64E+02 -5.30E+02 -6.57E+02/6.33E+00 625 L-0200 USO_REG_V 203 205 4.06E+00 4.10E+00 4.08E+00/2.59E-04 625 L-0201 USO_OVEN_V 127 130 2.54E+00 2.60E+00 2.57E+00/4.11E-04 625 T-0302 EPC1_T 187 197 -4.65E+00 -3.25E-01 -2.55E+00/3.79E-02 625 T-0303 EPC2_T 182 193 -2.86E+00 1.71E+00 -7.15E-01/4.89E-02 625 T-0310 RF_ISOLTR1_T 229 233 -6.05E+00 -1.15E+00 -3.37E+00/9.14E-03 5001 T-0311 RF_ISOLTR2_T 224 232 -4.77E+00 4.11E+00 -8.27E-01/3.02E-02 5001 T-0312 TWT1_T 228 232 -4.77E+00 -2.48E-02 -2.51E+00/3.56E-02 625 T-0313 TWT2_T 218 233 -6.05E+00 9.37E+00 2.96E-01/1.90E-01 625 T-0315 USO_T 146 149 1.91E+01 2.00E+01 1.95E+01/7.20E-03 625 T-0316 KA_AMP_T 215 219 8.56E+00 1.16E+01 9.93E+00/2.62E-02 625 L-0200, L-0201, and T-0315 are nominal. Levels were stable for the 1.5 minutes leading into ingress. The first measurement collected on day 272 at DSS 15 (occultaion 15911i, start time 2002/272-13:26:00) had max SNR levels about 1 dB lower than expected. In addition there was a +/-0.5 dB sinusoidal modulation on the free-space carrier amplitude, with period of about 10 seconds. There was no modulation on the carrier before telemetry was turned off or on the noise level. The last measurement collected on day 272 at DSS 15 (occultation 15915i, start time 2002/272-21:16:00) had a +0.5 dB ramp in the free-space carrier amplitude over the course of the measurement, with +/-0.3 dB random fluctuations. The first measurement collected by DSS 45 (occultation 15915i, start time 2002/272-21:16:00) started before the scheduled beginning of tracking. Although the last two minutes immediately prior to ingress were sucessfully captured, the earlier data contain only noise. This occultation was completely and successfully collected at DSS 15. The first measurement on day 273 at DSS 15 (occultation 15923i, start time 2002/273-12:58:00) had +/-0.7 dB random fluctuation in the free-space carrier amplitude. Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 15924e (start time 2002/273- 13:42:00) had +/-0.7 dB sinusoidal modulation of the carrier amplitude with period of about 10 seconds. There was no modulation of the noise level either before or after the carrier appeared. Data collected from DSS 15 occultation 15924i (start time 2002/273- 14:56:00) may have very small-amplitude modulation of the carrier level (amplitude ~0.1 dB) with a similar ~10 s period. Two egress measurements captured by DSS 15 (occultations 15926e and 15927e, start times 2002/273-17:37:00 and 19:35:00) had unusual 3 dB drops in the carrier amplitude over ~15 seconds near the end of recording. The last measurement attempted by DSS 15 (occultation 15927i, start time 2002/273-20:49:00) started after the scheduled end of tracking and contains only noise. There was a change in noise level after ingress on the following occultation: Occultation Start Date/Time DSS Level Change Time ----------- ----------------- --- ------------- ------- 15926i 2002/273-18:51:00 15 + 1 dB step ~150 s The following occultations were captured at two different antennas: Occultation Start Date/Time DSS #1 DSS #2 ----------- ----------------- ------ ------ 15911i 2002/272-13:26:00 65 15 15915i 2002/272-21:16:00 15 45 15923i 2002/273-12:58:00 65 15 Closed Loop Data ================ Data Collection --------------- We have obtained the following files from OSCAR and EPIC: Original File Name Name on SOPC ------------------------------------ ------------ ODF: 02272O273_10S.SJO;1 2272273A.ODF ODF: 02273O274_10S.SJO;1 2273274A.ODF TROPCAL: ATC02SEP.CSP;10 2244276A.TRO WEATHER: WEATHER_10_LATEST.TXT;340 20012731.WEA WEATHER: WEATHER_10_LATEST.TXT;340 20012734.WEA WEATHER: WEATHER_10_LATEST.TXT;340 20012736.WEA EOP: 021001-eop.long 20202357.EOP EOP: 021001-eop.short 13562357.EOP Ancillary Data ============== Data Collection --------------- We have obtained the following files from the DOM: Original File Name Name on SOPC ------------------------------------ ------------ AMD: amdgen.02-274.out 2272272A.AMD SAK: mgs_solar_array_2002-272.ck 2272272A.SAK SOE: mm215a.04.tsoe 2276279C.SOE TCK: mgs_spice_c_kernel_2002-272.ck 2272272A.TCK We have obtained the following files from NAIF: Original File Name Name on SOPC ------------------------------------ ------------ AGK: mgs_hga_ck_2002-09-21.bc 2264264A.AGK
