The degradation was apparently caused by weather (see also HEA2275A.TXT). Data Control submitted DR# M101050. Data collected from DSS 15, occultation 15948i (start time 2002/275-14:00:00) had +/-1 dB sinusoidal modulation on the free-space carrier amplitude with period of ~10 seconds. The modulation was present before telemetry turned off but not noticeable in the noise level after ingress.
