The amplitude is about 1 dB peak-to-peak and the period is about 35 s. The oscillations damp out until they are no longer visible about 2 minutes before ingress. This occultation was collected entirely before the scheduled beginning of tracking (19:55:00), and the oscillations were not visible in data collected simultaneously at DSS 25; so the cause is likely associated with the begining of tracking at DSS 45. There are +/-0.5 dB fluctuations in the carrier level in data collected from occultation 16853i at DSS 14 (2002/349-13:15:00). These data were the first collected in the pass; the occultation was also captured at DSS 65.
