The remaining two measurements in this pass also had +/-0.3 dB random carrier level fluctuations. There were +/-0.3 dB random carrier level fluctuations in addition to a +0.3 dB ramp in the carrier level for the first measurement collected from DSS 15, occultation 17171i, with start time 2003/010-13:00:00. The last measurement collected by DSS 45, occultation 17191i, with start time 2003/012-04:14:00, had +/-0.3 dB random carrier level fluctuations, probably due to low elevation. Data were collected from both DSS 54 and DSS 45 for occultation 17191i (start time 2003/012-04:14:00). Yet again, there were +/-0.5 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude for all four occultations captured by DSS 54 (occultations 17191i through 17194i, start times 2003/012-04:14:00 through 2003/012-10:07:00). The fluctuations were seen over the entire recording interval, including both before telemetry turned off and the noise level after ingress. This is now the fifth consecutive pass on DSS 54 for which all measurements had between +/-0.3 dB and +/-0.5 dB random fluctuations. The first pass on DSS 54 with these symptoms was on 2002/362 and noted in MGS HEA2363A.TXT. The last measurement collected by DSS 54 did not capture ingress. The start of data collection for occultation 17195i (start time 2003/12:05:00) was concurrent with the scheduled end of tracking, cutting off the measurement ~ 4 min before ingress. There was no signal at all for occultation 17197i, the last measurement captured by DSS 15. The start time for this measurement (2003/012-16:00:00) was five minutes later than the scheduled end of tracking.
