Data on day 041 at DSS 45 had +/-0.5 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude in addition to a 2 dB rise in the noise level that began about 1 minute after ingress and lasted about 1 minute before returning back to normal levels (occultation 17544i, with start time 2003/041-00:38:00). All four measurements from DSS 54 on day 042 had +/-1 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude over the entire measurement (occultations 17558i through 17561i, with start times 2003/042-04:06:00 through 2003/042-09:59:00). In addition, the first two measurement from this pass had carrier levels about 2 dB lower than expected (occultation 17558i, with start time 2003/042-04:06:00). The first two measurements from DSS 14 on day 042 had carrier levels about 5 dB lower than expected with +/-1 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude (occultations 17562i and 17563i, with start times 2003-042/11:56:00 and 2003/042-13:54:00). The second measurement also had a -2 dB ramp in the carrier amplitude. All four measurements from DSS 65 on day 043 had free-space carrier levels at least 2 dB lower than expected (occultations 17571i through 17574i, with start times 2003/043-05:36:00 through 2003/043-11:29:00). The last measurement in this pass had carrier levels 4 dB lower than expected (occultation 17474i, with start time 2003/043-11:29:00). The first measurement from DSS 14 on day 043 had carrier levels about 6 dB lower than expected, with +/-1 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude (occultation 17574i, with start time 2003/043-11:29:00). This measurement was also collected by DSS 65, which also had lower than expected carrier levels as noted above. Carrier levels were also about 6 dB lower than expected for the third measurement from DSS 14 on day 043, with a -2 dB ramp in the free-space carrier amplitude over the measurement and +/-0.3 dB random fluctuation (occultation 17576i, with start time 2003/043-15:24:00). The scheduled end of tracking came about two minutes before ingress for the last measurement collected from DSS 14 on day 043 (occultation 17578i, with start time 2003/043-19:19:00). All three measurements from DSS 65 on day 044 had free-space carrier levels about 2 dB lower than expected (occultations 17584i through 17586i, with start times 2003/044-07:05:00 through 11:01:00). The first measurement captured by DSS 14 on day 044 started about 15 minutes before the scheduled beginning of tracking. The carrier frequency is initially off center, and carrier levels are about 8 dB lower than expected with about +/-3 dB random fluctuations in the free-space carrier amplitude. The last measurement from DSS 14 on day 044 had a 3 dB drop in carrier levels that occurred about 5 seconds before ingress, and fluctuated +/-1 dB through ingress.
