Mars Express, an ESA mission, was successfully launched from Baikonur at 17:45 UT today. It is the first of three spacecraft scheduled for the 2003 window. As of a few hours ago, its solar panels had deployed and it was being tracked by the new ESA ground station near Perth, Australia.
