Anomaly ------- DSN Monitor data (not summarized here) for 2003/288 were collected at DSS 14, 45, and 63. The data from DSS 45 for channel M-1274 indicate that the spacecraft ID was 79, even though the query was submitted for spacecraft 94 (MGS). We have reported the anomaly to Katherine Levister, who has been advising us on other (usually transient) anomalies in DSN Monitor data. We will resume collecting approximately one ingress per day to monitor the HGA rewind effects. The last measurement from DSS 63 on day 289 had no signal. This measurement was made before the scheduled end of tracking, and the cause for the missing signal is currently unknown (occultation number 20579e, start time 2003/289-00:26:00). Overlapping data collected at DSS 14 (see next paragraph) also have no signal. Eight out of ten measurements from DSS 14 on day 288/289 had no signal (occultation numbers 20579e-20582i, start times 2003/289-00:26:00 through 07:49:00). The first and last measurement had normal signal levels, however. The cause for measurements with missing signal is currently unknown. All measurements in the following passes had frequency spurs around the carrier: Occultations Start DOY/End DOY DSS Comments ------------- ----------------- ------- ---------------------- 20575i-20578i 288/289 63 +/-60, 180 Hz spurs 20583e 289/289 14 +/-60, 180 Hz spurs Egress occultations in the following passes had uplink ramp leakage: Occultations Start DOY/End DOY DSS Comments ------------- ----------------- ------- ---------------------- 20576e-20577e 288/288 63 2/3 egresses in pass The following occultations had random fluctuations in the ADC input level: Occultation Start Date/Time DSS Comments ----------- ----------------- ----- -------------------------- 20574e 2003/288-14:37:00 45 +/-0.3 dB sin mod T~120 s 20575e 2003/288-16:35:00 45 +/-3 dB sin mod T~120 s 20576e 2003/288-18:33:00 63 +/-0.5 dB random fluct 20583e 2003/289-08:17:00 14 +/-1 dB random fluct The following occultations were captured at two antennas: Occultation Start Date/Time DSS #1 DSS #2 ----------- ----------------- ------ ------ 20578i 2003/288-23:57:00 63 14 20579e 2003/289-00:26:00 63 14 Data from occultation 20579i (DSS 14, start time 2003/289-01:56:00) were not completely processed because of a license manager error in MATLAB. We have suffered MATLAB problems all week (including one series of incidents at 3 AM local time), so have submitted ISA Z82178. Charles White and Eric Tauer are investigating, but a stable solution may require that we purchase a separate MATLAB license and make a new (local) installation on the SOPC rather than using the third-party software already on the work station.
