Engineering Data
================

     We were unable to obtain spacecraft engineering data for 2006/323
(2006-11-19) due to the ongoing spacecraft emergency.

     The attempts by MRO to image MGS may not have been successful. There was
no spacecraft in the HiRISE image(s); several candidate points of light are
being evaluated as possible detections in the low resolution CTX image(s).
MGS/LMA personnel acknowledge the difficulty of successfully imaging one
spacecraft from another.  According to Tom Thorpe, NASA HQ is not eager to
divert MRO again from its mission unless there is other evidence to indicate
that it would be more successful.  MER overflights and attempts to communicate
with MGS are in progress.  Tom's plan is to continue working through the
MGS "fault tree" which he estimates may take another 4-6 weeks, then to begin
wrapping up if nothing is heard.  NASA issued a press release and held a
