PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2007-01-26 NOTE = "MGS RST Instrument Health Report HEAH026A.TXT" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Miscellaneous: ============= Kyle Martin of Lockheed-Denver sent the following status report (slightly edited) late yesterday: This week is our last week of operations for MGS. Our last DSN coverage is scheduled for this Sunday. We have switched our commanding strategy for our last 4 uplink opportunities. Instead of sending the SCP resets, we are sending commands to swap TWTAs. These are commands we have sent before, but not with the long sweeps we are now using. The SCP resets were sent over 200 times since 12/18/06. If the spacecraft powered up and was in SMode, there is a case where the TWTA may be dead, yet the software thinks it is still okay. Yes, this is a real long shot - but the only thing left we could think of. So, the TWTA swap commands will be the last thing radiated to the spacecraft. The Plans and Status meetings will continue for the next several weeks on Mondays and Thursdays at 09:15 MST. We will use the meetings to provide updates on any reviews and closeout activities. MRO continues to look for MGS with its Star Tracker. The background sequence that went active on Wednesday (1/24) contains commands to "look" for MGS every 40 hours with the Star Tracker. This will continue through 2/2/07. We continue to prepare packages for the upcoming reviews. Thanks go to a lot of folks who have supported the anomaly recovery efforts. None of us wants to give up, yet it appears the time has come. Engineering Data ================ We were unable to obtain spacecraft engineering data for 2007/024 (2007-01-24) due to the ongoing spacecraft emergency. Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- No data collected. Closed Loop Data ================ Data Collection --------------- We have obtained the following files from OSCARX: Collect By Type File Name Original File Name DOY (SOPC) -------- --- ---- ------------ ------------------------------------- 2007-026 JDT EOP 2020H108.EOP 070125_170526-eop.long 2007-026 JDT EOP G107H108.EOP 070125_170526-eop.short 2007-026 JDT TNF H021O26A.TNF 20070211400_26.tnf Anomalies --------- There have been no confirmed detections of the MGS signal since 2006/307 and no likely detections since 2006/310; so the "data" in the TNF listed above should be considered suspect.
