The signal levels were high, and maybe the measurement could've completed without reaching saturation levels, but I still worried. I was thinking about what you said about 2 dB changes, and I hesitated for a few seconds, but then I saw the levels get closer to saturation, and I pressed the OK button to change the attenuation. Oops!
