The S-band transmitter at DSS 43 (which was supporting Ulysses) failed, and to provide the same level of support, DSS 34 was switched to support Ulysses, and DSS 45 came up to support MGS. This change happened before the track started, but again (and this was a part of my long talk with the Ops Chief) we were not informed. The first measurement (8831i) ran assuming DSS 34 was in the link, so even though the data is there, there's not signal. There was no DR written by the station because this was a communications problem and the station had nothing to do with it. There were problems with the DSP before the last measurement. The station tried to reboot the DSP, but they had difficulties with both DSPs. The last measurement was lost due to DSP problems (DR# A05163).
