Jester" Subject: Latest MGS Status (5/8) Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed" Status: RO Commands were sent yesterday to return to normal mode and point the s/c to nadir. The down-link signal was not received from the s/c as expected. The s/c team worked through the nite and was able to establish communications with the s/c via the LGA. It was determined that the HGA was in the parked position. Commands will be built later today to unpark the HGA and continue to configure the s/c for normal operations. It is anticipated that the PDS software will be re-loaded tomorrow early am. After the PDS is successfully loaded, instrument turn-ons will begin. Tomorrow evening the background sequence will begin executing which will start the standard record and playback of data. Prior to that we will receive real-time data from the instruments. The ROTOs scheduled for later this week are cancelled due to s/c team workload and the solar arrays being in auto track. The ROTOs should resume next week. The radio science egress scans for this week-end are still on the schedule. Peggy
